If you commute down I-25 from Monument, you already know where your chips come from. The hill between County Line Road and Baptist Road gets sanded early and often, and every grain of it ends up flying off the back of a semi. Chips spread faster up on the Divide
Monument sits right around 7,000 feet on the Palmer Divide. You get snow when the Springs gets rain, more nights below freezing, and bigger swings between the morning and the afternoon. A chip you noticed in a parking lot on Highway 105 can be six inches long by the end of the week.

Most cars up here have a camera
A lot of the trucks and SUVs in Jackson Creek and Promontory Pointe are newer, so there's usually a lane-assist camera behind the windshield. It has to be recalibrated after a replacement, every time. Plan on $550 to $1,100 for a windshield with a camera, compared to $250 to $400 for an older car with plain glass.
Have your VIN handy when you call. Two Highlanders that look exactly the same can take completely different glass.
Cold, windy days mean a longer wait
Urethane sets up slower in the cold, and it's colder up here than it is in town. If it's 25 degrees and blowing, we'll either work in your garage or tell you to give it a little longer before you drive. We're not handing you the keys before the glue is ready.

Can you fix a chip in Monument in the winter?
Usually, yes. The glass needs to be dry and not freezing cold, so on a chilly day we warm it up first. If it's snowing sideways, a garage helps a lot.
How fast can you get up here?
Monument's a straight shot up I-25, so same-day is normal if you call in the morning. Next morning at the latest, unless a hailstorm just came through.
