Fountain has a glass problem most of the Springs doesn't: heavy trucks on Highway 85. Gravel haulers, construction traffic and everything headed to Pueblo run right through town, and a loaded truck throws rock. Add the Fort Carson traffic on Highway 115 and Charter Oak Ranch Road and you've got thousands of people a day sitting right behind somebody else's tires.
Chips, and that sandblasted look
Fountain Creek leaves sand and grit along the shoulders, and when the wind picks up out of the south it puts all of it back in the air. On top of regular chips, a lot of windshields down here end up hazy and pitted. You mostly notice it driving into the sun on Mesa Ridge Parkway.
There's no repairing pitting. If the glare gets bad enough that it's hard to see, the fix is a new windshield, and on a lot of older cars that's $250 to $400.
We'll work around your schedule
Plenty of Fountain families are military, and Army schedules don't move for a glass appointment. That's fine. We'll come to your house in Cross Creek, your apartment lot off Mesa Ridge, or wherever the car happens to be parked, as long as it's not pouring rain on it.
Got PCS orders? Get the windshield done before you go. Driving across the country is exactly how a six-inch crack turns into a full-width one, and some states will fail you at inspection for it.

That depends on the base rules at the time and who's sponsoring us, so it's usually easier to meet off post. Call and we'll figure out a spot.
My windshield is hazy, not cracked. Can you fix that?
Not with a repair. That haze is thousands of tiny pits in the glass, and polishing it out makes the glass wavy. If it's getting hard to see, it's time for a new one.
